Hello

Thank you for visiting my website and your interest in Crucible K9 services. I can't wait to learn about you, your dog and how I can help make your life together more cohesive. Studies show both humans and canines who experience lower stress and anxiety live longer fuller lives. I'm here to help you achieve that and have fun while doing it.

My Story

What started as a passion and love for dogs has grown into a quest for education, experience and now a business. James Wickert, the founder of Crucible K9 Training, LLC (fully insured), has created a balanced training system that helps families better understand their canine members. James's program focuses on providing clear outlines, hands-on (or virtual) training, and everything needed to ensure a successful, stress free life with your dog.

Although a lifelong dog lover, James (and his wife Kassy) found their passion when volunteering and fostering through Ma Paws and Me pet rescue . In 2021, he became the lead trainer for a local rescue and helped to develop a unique program.  The unique training provided by James is a resource for all foster families and their foster dogs. This program includes behavioral analysis, development of a customized program and hands-on training to help foster dogs become the best they can be (in hopes of finding their perfect forever home). He enjoys working with all dogs but has found that he especially enjoys helping families through behavioral issues, dogs with bite records and creating a more peaceful home for both human and canine members.

James has 3 Certificates through the Team Dog Training Program which included Foundation, Basic Obedience and Behavioral Modification. (Behavior Modification included but was not limited to: Aggression, Resource Guarding, Leash Reactivity, Anxiety, Fear Based, and Multi-Dimensional Aggression).  He is also a Certified Dog Trainer through the Animal Behavioral College (ABC).
